Helping you to achieve writing success

I’ve been writing - or analysing words - all of my working life.

I have academic experience, with a first-class degree in English Literature and Language and a PhD in Literature.

I have international business experience as a communications consultant for large multinationals.

The written word has been central to all my work adventures, but so has my experience as an educator. I’ve taught undergraduates at university. I’ve trained business clients and colleagues.

I harness all of this experience to help you develop your writing skills and grow in motivation and confidence as an author.

I live and work in rural Suffolk, UK.

Alongside my editorial practice, I am involved in different writing and research projects.

  • I produce technical user guides, in plain English, for bespoke audio visual systems.

  • I am a published author. My writing has appeared in numerous books and journals.

I enjoy my work as a Reviews Editor for the international journal Women’s Writing. I am also the Reviews Editor for the multidisciplinary Women’s Studies Group 1558-1837.

I love reading fiction and non-fiction. I’m particularly interested in women’s writing, as well as eighteenth-century literature and culture.

When I am not at my desk, you’ll find me out in the garden or running with my editorial assistant, Benji the collie (pictured here).
